This is the personal, non-commercial website of Noah Horne, a student based in Oxford, United Kingdom. It presents my academic work and experience. I am the controller for any personal data processed through it.

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., USA). When you visit, GitHub automatically records technical information your browser sends, including your IP address, browser type, referring page and the time of the request. GitHub uses this to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Lawful basis: legitimate interests (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)): running a secure, working website. See the GitHub privacy statement.
If you click Accept, the site loads Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited). This helps me see how many people visit and which pages are read. It sets the cookies _ga and _ga_<ID>, which last for up to 2 years. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. I don't use Google Analytics for advertising or to identify individual visitors.
Lawful basis: your consent (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and PECR regulation 6). If you click Decline or ignore the banner, Google Analytics is not loaded. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings, also linked at the bottom of every page. Declining removes any Google Analytics cookies already set. See Google's privacy policy.
The site stores your light/dark theme preference and your cookie choice in your browser's local storage. These stay on your device and are never sent to me or anyone else.
The contact form is handled by Formspree (Formspree, Inc., USA). What you enter (your name, email address, subject and message) is sent to Formspree and forwarded to my email inbox. The form's script is loaded from the unpkg content delivery network, which receives your IP address as part of the request.
Lawful basis: legitimate interests (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)): reading and replying to your message. I keep messages only as long as needed for our correspondence, and never use them for anything else. See the Formspree privacy policy.
GitHub, Google and Formspree may process data in the United States. Such transfers rely on safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to standard contractual clauses.
This site links to GitHub and LinkedIn. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and I have no control over how they handle your data. PDF documents are served from this site's own hosting.
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these, email noahsrhorne@gmail.com. If you're unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. If you live in the EU or EEA, you can also contact your local data protection authority.
Unless stated otherwise, the content on this site (text, images, slides and documents) is © Noah Horne. Please ask before reusing it beyond personal, non-commercial use. If you spot anything here that you think infringes your rights, email me and I'll look at it promptly.
I may update this notice if the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
